    Methodology

    How the Index is built.

The Bluethread Ecosystem Index ranks platform ecosystems on five dimensions. Each ecosystem in coverage receives a 0–100 score per dimension and a composite weighted score. Weights, raw inputs, and the full source list ship with the report.

Inputs. Only publicly verifiable sources: vendor documentation, partner program pages, marketplace listings, public earnings commentary, hiring data, and developer-platform telemetry. No private briefings, no NDA material, no vendor-supplied scoring.

Scoring. Each dimension is built from 4–8 sub-criteria with explicit rubrics. Scores are normalized within the cohort so the Index measures relative ecosystem health, not absolute scale.

Changelog. Every quarterly update publishes a changelog: scores that moved, why they moved, and what new sources were added. Version history is preserved.

AI assistance. Source aggregation and first-pass synthesis used Claude. All scoring rubrics, weights, and editorial judgments are Bluethread's. Disputes are welcomed in writing — see the report for the correction process.
