Partnership Readiness Check
Six honest questions. The coach uses your answers to give you the advice that fits where you actually are — including the answer you don't want to hear.
1
Have you personally closed at least a handful of deals with no partner involved?
Direct is how you learn. A founder who can't close themselves can't teach a partner to.
2
Can you write down — in one page — who your buyer is, the pain they feel, and how you prove value?
This is the artifact a partner can actually carry. Most early partnerships fail in this gap.
3
Does at least one partnership-first condition clearly apply: partner-native product, intermediary-gated buyer, ecosystem-side founder credibility, or value only in combination?
If yes, you may lead with partnerships even before clearing the first two — but the direct loop runs in parallel.
4
Can you name a specific partner whose existing customers ARE your ICP — not a partner who is merely large or impressive?
At zero, your IPP and ICP collapse into one document. Score on ICP overlap, not logo size.
5
Have you modeled whether you can share revenue with this partner and still have a business at your margins?
If the math doesn't survive your unit economics, the partnership is a vanity project.
6
Can you see — even in a spreadsheet — whether a deal came through a partner (sourced / influenced / direct)?
A partnership you cannot see is a partnership you are funding on faith.
A partner can amplify a signal. A partner cannot generate one.
