The Partner Program Announcement Audit
Twenty major partner program announcements, July 2025 to July 2026, coded by a single question: where did money, credit, or deal flow move?
Headline finding: 19 of 20 coded announcements (95%) moved money, credit, or deal flow toward outcomes, marketplaces, agents, or co-developed IP. One reinforced traditional deal registration.
We collected major partner program and partner economics announcements from hyperscalers and large platform vendors over the trailing 12 months, using public vendor blogs, newsrooms, and trade press. Each announcement was coded by one question: where did money, credit, or deal flow move? Coding categories: attested or deployment outcomes; marketplace-verified transactions; AI or agent-mediated sourcing and workflow; partner IP co-development and co-delivery; program economics reset; reinforcement of traditional human-sourced motions. Dates reflect public reporting and are approximate in some cases. This is BlueThread analysis of public sources; it is vendor-neutral and unsponsored.

BlueThread interpretation
Three patterns sit under the tally. First, incentive dollars are being retagged from activity to outcome: MDF, sponsorship, and accelerator payouts increasingly require attested deployment or named use cases. Second, the marketplace is becoming the system of record for what counts as a partner deal; self-reported co-sell is being phased out at Microsoft and priced toward Marketplace at AWS. Third, the fastest-growing funding category is partner IP co-development, which changes the vendor-partner relationship from distribution economics to build economics.
The operating implication: program components built on human-sourced assumptions (deal registration credit, headcount tiers, certification counts) are losing the economics that supported them, one announcement at a time.
